4 Tips to Help Start Your Breastfeeding Journey

Did you know that August is Global Breastfeeding Awareness Month? This is when we celebrate all of the breastfeeding moms out there as well as partners and healthcare professionals who help give breastmilk to baby. For parents who are just getting started, here are some breastfeeding tips:

• More Comfort, More Milk

First things first, the more comfortable you are, the more milk you’ll be able to produce for baby. Whether it’s massaging your breasts before pumping or closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths before you begin, small steps can make a huge difference.

• Mom Cave

Speaking of being in the zone, preparing your pumping space can help with milk expression too! It’s amazing how much more relaxed and ready to pump you’ll be sitting in an armchair with snacks, water and a favorite magazine beside you.

• Get Pumping!

Whether mom is headed back to work, relieving engorgement or wants to provide breastmilk in a bottle so family and friends can bond with baby, a breast pump is essential. You’ll want one that allows you to express milk while sitting upright comfortably, is portable and allows you to pump directly into baby bottles.

• Insurance Check

Looking for a breast pump? You may be eligible for a one thanks to your insurance! Call your provider or check online to learn more.

To celebrate Breastfeeding Awareness Month, we’re giving away the Ultimate Breastfeeding pack of the following items.
