BCM: If you could describe motherhood in one word, what would it be?

SE: Amazing

BCM: What’s one moment in your motherhood journey that has made you proud?

SE: My kids are still very young – 21 months and 3 months. Emma, my oldest, is talking a ton and now she says “Mommy, I love you” and it makes my heart melt.

BCM: What is one piece of advice you want to pass along to your children?

SE:  Follow your heart and take chances.

BCM: CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SUCCESS OF YOUR JEWELRY LINE SAMANTHA FAYE! CAN YOU TELL OUR AUDIENCE MORE ABOUT YOUR INSPIRATION IN STARTING THE BRAND?

SE:  I was an attorney in NYC at a big corporate firm.  I needed a creative outlet and would head to 47th street (the jewelry district) and design pieces during lunch breaks! I started getting stopped on the street and being asked about my jewelry and that’s how I started!

BCM: YOU GREW UP SURROUNDED BY A FAMILY and WORLD of Creativity and in your busy time were able to launch your amazing line. What Tips would you have for other moms that want to get in touch with a passion but don’t believe they have the time.

SE: You can always make the time – especially if its something you love.  For a while, we had no help. I worked during naps, mornings, evenings. It was  (and is!) exhausting but if you believe in something you find the time to work on it.  It will make you happier and a better mom because of it!

BCM: What is one piece of advice you would pass along to other moms?

SE:  Don’t sweat the small stuff

BCM: How do you tackle work/life balance?

SE: Try my best to do both as well as I can! Realize I cannot do it all and that work can wait most times when things get difficult! My husband and I also instituted a no phone policy between 5-8PM each night.  We try our best to follow it so we can really connect as a family.

BCM: If you could hand off one chore to someone else each day, what would it be?

SE:   Hm – laundry! I am horrible at folding it — my husband is actually amazing! But somehow I always do the majority of it.

BCM: WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ?

SE: Me Before you. It was great!

BCM: WHAT IS THE BEST WHITE LIE THAT YOU’VE TOLD YOUR CHILD?

SE: Sometimes if Emma doesn’t want to go with someone for the day, I tell her I will meet her shortly.. I figure she will forget and just have fun! She may be too old for that now as she remembers everything!

BCM: What is your best parenting hack?

SE:  I don’t know if this is considered a hack, but flour and water, and oatmeal makes for great play doh, if you are out of stock on a rainy day!
